At which hospitals does Mr. van der Rijt perform surgery?

Dr van der Rijt undertakes Day surgery at the Calvary Day Procedure Unit in Edward Street and overnight patients at Calvary Healthcare Riverina (Calvary Hospital).  He also operates at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

Where can I see Mr. van der Rijt?

As well as the Wagga rooms, Dr van der Rijt also consults at the Cootamundra Medical Centre, Tumt Family Medical Centre and Tumut Connection Medical Centre.  All appointments however must be made through the Wagga office on 6925 6925.

Where are the Wagga rooms situated?

48 Docker Street, one block up from the traffic lights near the Wagga Base Hospital.  There is easy access to our parking area from a rear lane adjacent to the Caltex petrol station at the lights.

I am a pensioner, does Dr van der Rijt ‘bulk-bill’?

Unfortunately, we do not bulk-bill.  If you have concerns with the account, please speak to the receptionist when booking your appointment.

How much will my surgery cost?

You will be given a quote for your surgery at the time of booking.  We will also advise that you contact Calvary Hospital and the Anaesthetist’s office, so you will be fully informed of the expected cost of your surgery.

Will I have to wait long for an appointment?

We endeavour to see all patients in a timely manner.  Urgent patients booked by their GP, will be given priority.

Do I need a referral to see Dr van der Rijt?

All patients are required to have a current referral from their doctor.  Referrals from general practitioners last 12 months whereas a referral from a specialist lasts only three months.

Can I see Dr van der Rijt about any medical condition?

Dr van der Rijt has a specialty interest in hip and knee conditions and confines consultations in his private practice to these specialised fields only.

I am coming during work hours, will there be a delay?

Sometimes, Dr van der Rijt may not run to schedule and there may be a delay prior to your consultation.  We are happy for you to ring ahead, to see if you can expect to be seen on time.
