Total Knee Arthroplasty

Total knee arthroplasty remains one of the great surgical advances of modern medicine.  The operation is highly effective in relieving the disabling effects of knee osteoarthritis which include pain, swelling, crepitus (grinding) deformity, giving way and instability.

In TKA the damaged joint is resurfaced with specifically designed prostheses to restore the joint surface and function.

The patient’s recovery is enhanced by rapid recovery rehabilitation program which incorporates high quality pain relief during and after hospitalisation, coupled with physiotherapy supervised rehabilitation exercise program. Pain relief and rehabilitation exercise are essential to restore the knee range of movement and muscle strength of the leg.
